Parking/Access Road Notes: The designated parking shown on the Long Trail map is simply not there. The top of Carse Rd is fairly eroded but perfectly drivable. Parked along the roadside on the buckled pavement,

Trail Maintenance Notes: Trail is in good shape. No blowdowns, no erosion. Found a still-smoldering campfire at the Birch Glen Shelter. Gave some of my body's water to extinguish it. Please be sure to put out campfires - there's an adjacent water source. Would have been trivially easy.

Comments: Out and back to the Birch Glen shelter and LT junction for my LT side-to-side. Met a thru-hiker named Garmin at the Birch Glen Shelter and hiked out their trash. Managed to avoid the rain.
