Broke trail up most of Forest City and all of the Long trail. There were some deep drifts to waddle up until I could get firm footing. Most of the time I was walking on firm deep snow with a couple times I'd post hole even with snow shoes. I know the trail relatively well but still pulled out my gps map a couple times when I lost the trail, it was very tricky staying on course once on the ridgeline. No open ice flows to contend with, just deep snow. |
