Comments
Comments: Well we barebooted to Abraham (I always try to do this as much as possible no postholing occurred as it was solid) It started to get drifty right after the summit and oh man were we in for a rude awakening on a completely different trail we were about to be on. It was lots of snow on trees with a skiier and a barebooter making a mess and we tried to fix it as we would not be able to bareboot or spike that without constantly going into our hips in the snow. The snow was super warm and it was like having 5-10lbs extra on the snowshoes but they were the only things that made sense sadly. It was a slow slow slog and the ski trails portions were the only breath of air for dealing with the mess. Once we got closer to Ellen it started up with the deep post holes and that was a mess again. The Long trail was not broken at all near the summit of Ellen which it wasn't last year when I did this too so down the ski trails we went until we came close to the trail in the glades and followed that back to jerusalem trail. It was just getting too warm heading down so once we came to the tire tracks we switched back to bareboots for the last bit as it was solid again but just sticky snow again. I know it has snowed since I am writing this but I have not seen any posts for these peaks to show if there was a base or not.
