Comments
Comments: Clockwise loop of Killington and Mendon. Bucklin Trail was very straightforward with excellent views from Killington.

Took the Long Trail to the col with Little Killington, and just dove into the woods where it looked agreeable. Started at 3750 and worked almost due west in order to pick up the human herd path before the final ascent of Mendon. I was lucky that I caught a few moose herd paths along the way. I also saw a couple of blue ribbons every now and then, but did not want to start following them as I have no idea where they come from and where they were going, I was focused on my own route. Upon arriving at the east side of the Mendon cone, I hunted around for the herd path and found it! I was prepared to just whack to the summit where I'd find it anyway, but I was lucky today. Make sure to visit the vista from a side herd path diverting southeast near the summit. Took the longer herd path descent to the river (beware of very muddy sections between crossings).
