Comments
Comments: I was a little concerned since I saw the report from the day before stating that the trail was all ice... Not quite and past the stairs, it was relatively easy. I wore Hillsound microspikes and had no issues going up or down, even on the stairs which were completely iced over. No need for snowshoes today, barely any snow at the start and perhaps three inches at the top over a very hard packed base, sometime ice as you cross frozen stream and falls. The views from the tower are spectacular when there is no clouds, like today. I saw a few hikers, all with microspikes (right choice today...).
