Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: A few crossings of the Mattawee river, pretty easily hopped across but you might need to go up or downstream a bit from the trail. No big problem though
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A lot of run off melt on the trail, especially towards the bottom. Follow the blue tape markings. The trail is wide and easily followed, apart from the section between South Dorset and the higher North Dorset. It would be wise to have GPS enabled for this section

Comments
Comments: Dorset Mountain, North and South Peaks

The Mattawee might be the highlight of this hike. Beautiful, narrow, fierce little river with several inlet streams that meet in pleasant arrangements throughout the hike. The trail itself is wide and steep and straight and eroded...not the greatest. Once above the snow line (maybe 2,800ft or so, the trail gets nicer. Snowshoes are a must up there. Spikes worked for me but postholing was significant and only getting worse.
