We were surprised to see a handful of cars already in the parking lot when we arrived. Turned out people were thinking the same thing that we were - get up and back down before the rain started. While the skies definitely looked like there would be rain we didn’t experience any. The warm temperatures during the past few days resulted in a lot of ice and super-crusty snow. We were able to do the lower portion without any traction aides but did end up using the spikes along the upper portion of the trail. We knew we wouldn’t need our snowshoes but we brought them along for the added “pack trainingâ€. While we thought it was for winter we were told by by a group we saw that it’s really “life trainingâ€. That sounded better. |
