Nice loop up Forest City and down Burrows. It was nicely packed but I’m sure that will all be wiped out by the snow that started falling halfway through my hike. Encountered what I think was a juvenile black bear (definitely a bear, tbd how old) on the LT maybe half a mile north of the Montclair Glen Lodge. It was 50ft ahead of me on the trail and quickly scampered away when it saw me, but still gave me a bit of a scare. I loudly sang Bruce Springsteen and clapped my hands for the following 20min to make sure I didn’t startle any other “friendsâ€! |
