| Water Crossing Notes: |
The col between Jay and Big Jay has some boggy areas. Big and deep enough to wet your feet if not careful. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
The Long Trail is in phenomenal condition. The herd path between Jay and Big Jay is very distinct, but it is under heavily encroaching spruce for a significant part of the whack to Big Jay. Reminded me of the whack from North Brother to Fort in Maine. If you keep your attention split between the encroaching trees and the clear herd path beneath, you'll have no trouble with the navigation. The path pretty much follows the crest of the ridgeline between Jay and Big JAy |

| Comments: |
I don't tolerate heat that well, so I wear shorts in summer even when hiking a whack. The price is literally, blood. Not too much, but it's visible as are the scratches. Be aware and make your choice. |
