Comments
Comments: Awesome overnight trip with my brothers. Stable monorail the whole way but plagued with postholes and perfect for spikes. If temps warm and snow softens snowshoes are recommended as snow depth is quite deep in spots along the ridge. The shelter is in fine conditions, plenty of deadfall around for firewood if you travel a couple hundred feet away from the shelter. No rodent issues apparent. Water is flowing in creek next to shelter. We cleared the firepit of snow and ice and cooked steak over it. There was standing water in the bottom but it had drained by morning. Please treat this shelter with respect and care, it truly is a gem! Thank you GMC and volunteers for keeping the place in great shape.
