| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Room for several cars in the Pinnacle Meadows parking area. The road leading to it had some ruts, so drive carefully if you approach Stowe Pinnacle and/or the Skyline Trail from this trailhead. |

| Recommended Equipment: |

| Water Crossing Notes: |
No crossings that I noticed. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Very well defined to Stowe Pinnacle; more lightly trodden from there to the Skyline Trail junction, and from there to Mt. Putnam. No blowdown/debris/drainage etc. issues, though. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
No water right now, but that might change with the thunderstorm risk tomorrow. Bring water for your dogs if you come here during a dry spell. |
|
| Bugs: |
A minor annoyance at times, but not bad overall. |

| Comments: |
This one was well earned, especially since it was hazy, hot, and humid the whole time. Wearing long pants didn't help, either. The three H's aside, the approaches to Stowe Pinnacle and the Skyline Trail were steep and rough in spots, so it would've been somewhat difficult regardless. Saw several groups between the trailhead and Stowe Pinnacle, but from there to Mt. Putnam and back, I didn't see anyone else. The view from Stowe Pinnacle was much appreciated after what was basically a steep and rough climb to a wooded hump with over 2,400 feet of prominence...
#35 on the New England 50 Finest is in the bag! |
