| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
We parked at the end of the drive able portion of Tower Road where it becomes jeep road to the left and logging road goes straight. High clearance cars may travel a bit further up and park a log landing area but I had my new car and wasn't willing to risk it. |

Stream just above collapsed cabin was not an easy rock hop |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trail had a few blow downs but easy to go around or under, nice that South Peak has a big north view cut near the tower and signs are well worn and difficult to read and one was lying on the ground. Canister is junk and needs to be replaced. The canister is upside down and top cap (not just screw cap but whole upper piece) slide off up but it is cracked. I put register in new plastic bag should help in short term. |

This was a nice hike.
We followed the Tower Road/jeep road and the stream just above the collapsed cabin wasn't easy to rock hop. The old road is gets steep as it just clings on the hillside high above the brook and on the way to the col the pass just keeps getting wonderfully narrower. We just kept baring right at intersections and passed a couple of rock cairns. We took the hard right herd path off the road and headed straight up to the South Peak and near the barbecue and wrecked tower there is a large swath cut to open the view (right on!). From there we followed the other path off the pea and ended up at doorknob junction and then up to the main peak. As I said above canister cap is cracked and upside down but someone righted the sign. We continued on to the North Peak and it was just a short up and down to the summit from the main path. We followed the path back down and enjoyed the gradual good footing path back down all the way until we passed where we headed up to the south peak. This was an excellent lolly pop loop. Thanks Liz for joining me. |
