Nice loop to get Mendon and Pico. Hit snow at last water crossing. Stayed in snowshoes for rest of the day. They provided good flotation on the bushwacks, traction and stability on the trails. Top half of spur trail on Killington was solid ice. Wished I had my crampons. From summit of Pico I bushwhacked directly back to Brewers corners. Super thick at top but opening up to open woods. Some beautiful cascades high up on the brook. Great day out on and off trail. |
