Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: New Haven river has a reasonably stable snow bridge but is flowing quite strongly. Tributaries are normally open, requiring a climb down and up again, but very shallow/low flow. (1/4" or less.)
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: EP is heavily blazed and easy to follow. LT is poorly brushed, poorly blazed, and nearly impossible to follow. One tricky blowdown on lower portion of EP.

Comments
Comments: The Emily Proctor trail has two major relocations; the official LT map (3rd edition) has the old location in both places. From the trailhead, signs point to a new trail located higher up on the left instead of the old road that used to be the trail; new trail appears to rejoin the road just outside the wilderness boundary and the road may still be usable. New trail then leaves the old route around 1800', staying in the valley of the New Haven River and crossing it around 1900'. It continues near the river until rejoining the old route near 2600' for the steep climb. EP trail is well-broken (we broke 1"-4" of fresh powder on a packed track) and should be no problem to follow.

LT is NOT broken out. There is a bushwhack route somewhat broken to the summit of Wilson, near the LT but with some spruciness and thick brush. This track drifted in very fast. LT was unfindable. LT is not followable more than 100' towards Breadloaf; corridor is not visible and blazes disappeared after that distance. Do not attempt to follow the LT without bushwhack skills.
