| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Nice well-kept parking lot. It is a small lot, so you may run the risk of not having a place. |
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Standing/Running Water on Trail |
| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Beginning of trail has plenty of extremely easy rock hops. After that, there's no water, but a few rocks in the steep area were damp and slippery. |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Very good. There are some eroded parts high up, with loose rocks, so step carefully. |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
No water for most of the hike and it's a real workout, so bring extra water for them. Two little ones managing the really steep sections, with help from their human companions. |
| Bugs: |
very few! We came out in the evening, so we encountered a few mosquitos the last mile before the parking lot. |

Terrific day! Clear conditions and nice winds (maybe that's why we were so bug-free). The Chimney was a lot of fun. But if you suffer from any knee or joint issues, please give yourself a lot more than book time to do this hike. East O was our 32cd, we went to Osceola to cover that part of the trail in case my knees will allow us to redline someday, haha. On the way back, we took some time and went to the pond. Although the Greeley Pond Trail is closed further on, you can visit here. As tired as I was, I'm glad Prema encouraged me to go. What a beautiful, peaceful place, especially in the evening. |
