Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Easy rock-hops
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Rough footing in bottom 1-1.5 miles as usual. Trail getting a bit overgrown in spots, easily passable for now though. Couple minor mud spots, just walk through, it's not deep.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: No major hazards to the main peak, just not a ton of water. Trip to East might prove challenging around the chimney depending on the dog.
Bugs
Bugs: Mosquitoes down low running laps around my head. Nothing up high, despite sun and no wind on the Osceola ledges.

Comments
Comments: Part one of a double-hit-and-run (my first). Was originally going to hike from the Kanc side, but decided to throw Tecumseh in afterwards, so came from Tripoli Road instead. Made good time up, stopped for a few minutes at the East ledge (after visiting the Northern overlook and the REAL summit rock), then headed to East peak. Loose rubble for a couple tenths descending to the col, then not bad until the chimney. Took the bypass down, which is only marginally easier than the chimney. Tagged the East summit and immediately turned around after noting the summit carin seemed much larger than my last visit in 2004 (could be bad memory). Scrambled up the chimney on the way back, and spent a half-hour on the ledge enjoying the hazy view towards the Tripyramids and more.

At that point, I'd still only seen maybe 18 people, ran into easily 3x that number coming up as I descended. Roughly 5.5 hour round-trip. Slightly cooler than yesterday, but very humid!
