| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
dropped a bike at oliverain brook trail and parked at pinebend brook trailhead. ran into a usfs law enforcement officer in the oliverian lot who mentioned there had been some break ins lately. good to see them out patrolling. |

| Water Crossing Notes: |
water crossings were all ok. the large brook on passaconaway cut-off necessitated stepping in water which in my experience isn't unusual. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
a fair amount of blowdown along the route, most of it minor. selected a few for removal along the way. |

| Bugs: |
bugs weren't a problem when moving, but the black flies found me whenever i stopped for too long. |

| Comments: |
mostly dry trail except for the standard short bits of mud and wet trail. some wet ledge in spots.
beavers have flooded the trail for a short stretch near the dam on oliverian brook trail.
i like carrying a water filter for this hike to top off along the way (the small brook below passaconaway being a favored spot).
such a great day to be out hiking. cool temps and nice views. very quiet up there today. one of my favorite loop hikes. |
