	Trails:	Mt Osceola Trail

	Date of Hike:	Tuesday, September 29, 2026

	Parking/Access Road Notes:	There were 2 cars in the lot when I arrived and about 8 when I finished. The lot is small but there is room on the road to park as well. $5 fee to park. Restrooms were fully stocked.

	Surface Conditions:	Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable

	Recommended Equipment:

	Water Crossing Notes:	All are easy crossings. It was really nice to both hear and see water flowing finally.

	Trail Maintenance Notes:	There are some blowdowns all along the way that are easily navigated. Between the 2 peaks there is some debris from the rain and winds over the weekend. I moved some off the trail as I passed by.

	Dog-Related Notes:	No puppers seen today. This route is a good one for dogs with the exception of the chimney. They could totally use the bypass to the bypass to get around it.

	Bugs:	One hit me in the face and we had a conversation about personal space. No issues after that.

	Lost and Found:	Nothing lost and nothing found.


	Comments:	Wet is the name of the game today. The entire trail is wet. The footing down low is tedious already and add to that wet slanted rocks and you have a recipe for slow going. Higher up the rocks were pretty grippy despite being wet but watch your step. At about the 2 mile mark, the trail is a stream with running water all along the way. I just embraced it and went right through it. Between the 2 peaks it's pretty muddy. Some of the mud pits have rocks or logs thrown in to keep your feet sort of kind of clean but some of the rocks wobble so watch out. Also watch out for the gray mud that looks like a rock but isn't. None of the mud is supportive. Again, I just went through it. The chimney was wet but I had no issues with it. It's pretty grippy and I have my favorite handholds which worked fine. No views today unless you like looking at the inside of a cloud, which I really love so I thought it was a GREAT day. I only saw a handful of hikers but all were happy and friendly. Shout out to the 2 guys who had hiked Tecumseh earlier in the morning and were now headed to Osceola and opted to add on the East peak so it didn't get orphaned. Woot woot!
