I parked off of North Groton Road, where there's room for several vehicles. No others when I arrived, and one other when left. |

a few blowdowns here and there, nothing new, nothing causing reroutes. The grassy trails (old roads) are well-maintained. |

The Cockermouth Forest is one of the many options on the August-October SPNHF hiking challenge. I did a counterclockwise loop of the trails. About 6.4 miles total, with 1300-1400 feet of elevation gain for the peaks, the only steep area. The Ledges involved a smaller bit of steep up and down too. The views from Bald Knob and Crosby are excellent. |
