Parked at the lot off route 302. There were open spots at sunrise (6:20AM). Later on, vehicles had to park alongside the access into the lot or to the side of route 302. Sawyer River Road is still gated due to a wash out. |

 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Carrigain Brook is running low. The downed trees at the crossing can make for awkward maneuvers but the crossing is not difficult. There are various viable routes to cross the brook. |

 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trail in good condition. There are two trees across the trail before reaching the Carrigain Brook crossing. One is 4.5-5' above the surface and easy to go under and the other is about 3.5-4' above the ground that requires a low duck or a walk around the base just off the trail.
Some of the bog bridges between Carrigain Brook and the Carrigain Notch Trail junction are broken. One log of a two log bridge on the uppermost trail relocation is broken.
At least one hiker unintentionally used the original Signal Ridge Trail through the wet area rather than bearing right before the Carrigain Brook crossing. There used to be an arrow on the tree to indicate the direction of the path. The arrow has been gone for years. |
