When we headed up there was 1-2 inches of fresh powder. Put traction on at the cascade. Snow is pretty deep by the ponds but solid enough that we stayed on top. Precise foot placement was needed for the way down from the summit. More traction would have made things easier. On the return the new snow had melted and it was back to bare ground below the cascade. |
