Ascended Whiteface via Blueberry Ledge trail. Hardpack trail all the way up and I completed the trail with micro spikes and poles. Light crampons and an axe would have been helpful on the upper ledges.
The sleeper trail to East Sleeper was broken in, but not as packed. Snowshoes were helpful. Lots of Moose sign along this trail. Rollins trail was well packed (thanks Rocket21 and co!) and only micro spikes were needed.
Dicey's Mill had a lot of activity and was hardpack the entire way. Blueberry Ledge Cutoff and most of the other side trails were not broken in. Ran in to Rocket21 and companions at the junction of Rollins and Dicey's Mill. Thanks for the tips! Great day to be on the mountains.
Wildlife: Moose sign, weasel scat, red squirrels
Birds: White-winged crossbills (singing and displaying on the ridges), boreal chickadees, black-capped chickadees, goldfinches, red-breasted nuthatch, mourning doves, blue jays, hairy woodpecker, pileated woodpecker, ruffed grouse
