Comments
Comments: Saw appreciable snow/ice on Imp about 1.5 miles from Camp Dodge connector. Trail was stable if you stayed on the centerline. I barebooted fine to South Carter and then put on my spikes to get over to Carter Dome to give some extra traction. A little slower going the last 1/3 mile to the Carter Dome summit because the trail was a little meandering and there was a some softer snow/few spruce traps. Doubled back to Zeta Pass to take Carter Dome Trail down to 19 Mile Brook. Very different conditions than North Carter Trail. Carter Dome Trail had alot more decay of the snowpack and some elevated monorail was showing. Took off my spikes about 1 mile down from the junction and then bare booted the rest of the way. I had snowshoes with me just in case but never felt the need to put them on.
