Comments
Comments: Conditions were better than I expected all the way from Zealand rd to Bondcliff. Zealand Rd is bare/dry ground until the water supply access just before Zealand trailhead. We put spikes on as soon as we got on Zealand trail and used them much of the day but it rained in the afternoon so conditions may be softer than they were. Guyot and the treeless section from Bond to Bondcliff was bare rock. Hillary step had a good amount of snow at the base making it easy to step down. The worst conditions were coming down from Bondcliff where the trail was soft, uneven, and moderately post-holed. Once we got to the railroad bed the snow & ice were gone but it had some muddy areas.
