Lost and Found
Lost and Found: A ton of trash, like.. couches, tv's - might be able to open a small Thrift Store with the trailside debris
Comments: Needed a dry trail and found that here. 3.8-miles up and back. No snow, no mud; crushed stone to start out of N Haverhill, turns to packed sand for 0.5mi, then crosses the highway following the old railroad grade on packed dirt or cinder in places.

Once across the 50-mph highway, the Blackmount Rail Trail traces Rt 10, but much further below along an embankment, to the west is the CT River as it meanders through the flood plain and farmlands.

There are some nice places, and not so nice places. Overall the footing was great, a little sandy near the northern terminus - good for a scenic stroll along the CT River, especially linking up with the Ammonoosuc Rail Trail in Woodsville for a longer trek. These old railroad corridors cut through some remarkable landscapes and offer some splendid views while offering up relatively dry footing. And also great for some long, easy mileage.

For anyone interested in the Blackmount Rail Trail, I left a link to a quick write-up with some photos of the stroll - enjoy!
