Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Lot at trailhead holds 3-4 cars and was full w/3 at 11:20. Another was on the side of the road. There is a much larger lot across the street that looks to hold at least a dozen cars, we joined 3 others. They were still there at our 2:40 return, but the TH lot was emptied. Plus, there is one more small lot just down the street to the east.

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All rock hops
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails in great shape, easy to follow despite lack of/faded blazing. Few step overs, but they may have been there for awhile and are no problem.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Cooper had a blast. Plenty of water running in the smaller streams at lower elevations. Need water as ascending. Big plus is the Saco river right next to the parking lot. Coop really enjoyed cooling off in the river after the hike.
Bugs
Bugs: Really annoying when stopped. I was just trying to sign in and add drier paper to the register and they got so annoying that I had to grab my netting. Was stopped for only 13 minutes. Move fast and do not stop.

Comments
Comments: Trails in great shape and easy to follow. A sign near the trailhead informs everyone that the shelter was removed in July of 2022. Also, the sign at the trailhead stated distance to the 'campsite', not 'shelter'. The remains are available for firewood. I did bump into one hiker heading up to camp overnight.

Trail ascends fairly gradually, then down again to the intersection with the Mt Parker Trail, the descending slope was dotted with painter trilliums, very nice. Hike up to the summit seems to partly follow a smaller stream bed, but it was mostly dry today. Couple of muddy locations on both trails could be avoided, unless you are a dog who likes to walk right through them. The RHP is about 25 yds off the trail, hardly a bushwhack; no real herd path. The contents were a bit damp, only slightly, writing was faded and hard to read, and the baggie was torn on one side. I replaced the baggie, and added a few sheets of paper.
