Comments
Comments: East Side Trail was beautiful, seems like it would have been icy/glazed over from ski tracks but with the inch or two from over the weekend freezing on the surface it was good traction.

Off packed trail, in the hardwood of down low, the crusty snow was fully supportive with snowshoes for good traction. Became 6-8" of fluff once in the conifer canopy.

Approached the peak from the west and hooked counter-clockwise to the high point. Great views from the helipad landing site/radio equipment of Franconia, Garfield & Owls Head.

Snow all around was turning to sticky trash by 10am, sticking to snowshoes and becoming slick, alpine start is the way to go for me - hoping the next few days of cold temps help to solidify the snowpack even further!

Included in the link below is a bit of a ramble with some color photography of the bushwhack. Enjoy!
Happy climbing!
