Date of Hike: Saturday, September 24, 2022
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Sabbaday Falls can make the parking lot busier than other places, but we didn't have any trouble with parking close to 10am.

Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Standing/Running Water on Trail

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Sabbaday Brook was somewhat difficult to cross. It was no issue for most of the group, but felt sketchy. There wasn't a clear path across many of the water crossings. I think the water level may have been high due to the rain we got last week.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There were a few places that blazes would have been welcome, like on the other side of water crossings. There was a few places we found a faded arrow and that was about it. Otherwise the trail was clear of debris and in good condition.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes:
Bugs
Bugs: no issues with bugs. Didn't need bug spray all day.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: n/a

Comments
Comments: About 3.5 miles in, ascending with the brook on our left, my map (GaiaGPS app) said we should continue to keep the brook on our left. But the trail clearly crossed and continued up the gully, putting the brook on our right as we ascended. It looks like a slide may have taken the trail out sometime ago and it was rerouted across the brook, but my map hadn't been updated. It was fairly obvious, my map just made it a little confusing!

The trail was absolutely beautiful! The peak doesn't have much of a view itself (small windows through the trees), but if you hike the TriPyramid trail down off the peak (on the north side) to the top of the north slide, you get a stunning view.

Leaves were starting to turn, but not quite in full fall regalia.
