Comments
Comments: Did these two early this morning after staying in Conway last night. Lots of water (running and standing) and mud on the Black Cap Trails. Ledges in the woods were wet but up on top they were drying out from the wind. Pretty chilly on top with a stiff breeze and temps in the 40s. The trees continue to grow up around the summit and are restricting the views more.

Back at the trailhead, I walked back down Hurricane Mtn. Rd. a short distance and hopped onto the old road leading up to Hurricane. I followed this up about 0.25 mi. to a fork where the footpath diverges right. It is marked with small cairns, but peters out shortly before the summit. From where it appeared to stop, I bushwhacked to the high point in a small wooded clearing. There's a handle on a tree but no register.
