Hiking Trail Conditions Report
Peaks
Peaks Mt. Osceola, East Osceola, NH
Trails
Trails: Mt. Osceola Trail
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Monday, August 15, 2022
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Lot on Tripoli Rd was maybe 2/3 full at 8am. By 3pm there were plenty of spaces available, but there were quite a few vehicles parked along the west side of the road in both directions.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Anything that may have been a crossing is dry. We need rain.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trail up to the main peak and the link over to the east peak are in good shape. At a few places descending toward the east peak, it did seem that there was a fair amount of erosion from all the foot travel, with a lot of loose gravel at places, requiring caution in descending.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw a few. I would have been interested in seeing them negotiate the chimney on the way to/from the east peak.
Bugs
Bugs: None, really, although back at the cars there were numerous flies trying to land on my legs.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: There is an off-green sleeveless shirt at the side of the trail high up toward the main peak. I left it there, but perhaps I should have packed it out as trash.

Comments
Comments: Nice dry day for a hike with the OTHH. The return from the east peak and the descent to the cars was a tad warmer than the start, but still fine.
