| Water Crossing Notes: |
The water crossing on Pine Bend went well and felt easy to me. The eight crossings on Downes Brook were more challenging, but I did them. Only a slight dunk, nothing too soaking occurred. My 6'1" hiking pal finished with dry feet :) |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
The trails were great! Some minor blow downs on Pine Bend; Kate Sleeper was gorgeous and could use a little brushing, but I'm not complaining. The blow downs on Downes Brook up near Kate Sleeper were more difficult, however. One in particular, along a rocky wet trail was perfect head height for me and I slammed right into it. Only needed two staples! Watch yer heads! |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
One cute and victorious pup at the top of the North Slide. Also one very cute pup named Tuckerman who we fell in love with. Thanks, Brice, for letting us give him some love. |
|
| Bugs: |
Tons at the summits, and the bug net came out for Kate Sleeper Trail. On and off for the rest of the hike. |

After watching the weather obsessively all day Saturday, I saw the rain move off of Sunday's forecast. Thrilled to get this hike in, after attempting it in the winter and having to turn back after only reaching North Tripyramid. It was beautiful in the Sandwich Range today. Happy to bump into the Teal Goal and get intel on the Middle Tri pencil stick. Found it after a bit of a search (and having to step over hikers eating their lunch on the summit). Lots of moose poop on the Kate Sleeper Trail and Downes Brook Trail. Didn't see a moose, but saw a turkey on the lower end of DBT. Had an unfortunate run-in with a blowdown on DBT that drew blood from my head (plus all the blood that the bloodsuckers took while we tried to stop the bleeding). Urgent Care in Lincoln is excellent! Received top notch care from David and crew, plus got to hear and share some fun hiking stories while he cleaned me up. What a day! |
