| Water Crossing Notes: |
I suggest anyone planning a trip to Owl's Head check out the USGS stream flow data beforehand. I had to wade across the 3rd crossing. Water was knee deep (I'm 6'4"). I will add that the water was incredibly cold; like painfully cold; like your feet will get numb immediately cold. Yes, really really cold. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
There were a lot of blowdowns on the Owl's Head path on the top of the mountain. I cleared a handful, but there are still a couple of big ones remaining. |

| Comments: |
Other than the one difficult water crossing, really a delightful day for a long walk in the woods. Lots of wildflowers beginning to make an appearance. Trail conditions in general were really very dry overall. Just some minor mud in the usual locations on the Lincoln Woods Trail, but even those typically muddy spots were not too bad. There is some ice and snow beginning near the top of the Owl's Head Path, but I suspect the trail will be mostly free of snow and ice by next weekend. I used spikes for just a short distance approaching the top of the mountain and along the ridge to the summit. |
