| Water Crossing Notes: |
After the hut coming up Old Bridle, where the pond crosses the trail was all flowing over, rocks were all submerged.
Coming down falling waters all crossings were doable, as I was coming down I didn’t mind getting my feet wet. Water levels are high due to warm temps |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
A handful of blowdowns on old bridge. Some major blowdowns on falling waters, one that the whole trail deviates after cloudland falls, before last crossing. |

Had a gorgeous sunrise/early morning hike. It is STILL SPIKE SEASON!! As I was headed down there were more than a handful of individuals who didn’t carry spikes. Please carry them, it is important makes the hike so much more enjoyable! Snow and ice started around 3200ft. All ice and snow was covered with debris from recent high winds which made it more difficult to navigate.
The ridge was nearly fully clear of ice, just one little patch on Lafayette, and some old snow in the wooded sections. Can definitely put the spikes away for the ridge walk.
With warm temps everything is going to be messy, be smart out there folks! Bring extra socks for all the wet melted snow that’s there. And most importantly enjoy yourselves!! |
