| Water Crossing Notes: |
Little River had too much volume to cross with dry boots. We switched to water shoes and found a line across that wasn’t bad (but cold!). |

Many blowdowns on NTT, all stepovers. |

Black flies are making their presence known. |

Same stuff at the kiosk that has been there for eight months. |

| Comments: |
The beautiful, warm weather had finally taken its toll on trail conditions today. We bare booted to 3400’ then wore spikes until our return to that elevation. Raised monorail is just forming above that and it was unstable, particularly where it was in the sun. We postholed or slipped off it frequently. The tedious conditions continued to the summit spur. This wasn’t unexpected. :)
Another super hike with Chris. Wildflowers were stunning along the lower herd path/trail and views up high were magnificent. |
