Comments
Comments: Beautiful day out there. Only ran in to two others on trail all day. One person must have lived in the area as I confirmed with the other women that I ran into that it was her car in the lot. Rotting monorail started around 2900ft but I carefully barebooted all of the way up to 3900ft. The ledges are completely ice and snow free but there is some snow and ice between the ledgy sections. Anything that is seeing sun is pretty much dry. I put on my spikes when I ran into snow for the last few hundred feet of climbing. The final scramble wasn't too gnarly and I hoisted myself up and down pretty easily. Spikes are definitely still needed to make for a safe ascent and decent (I had one minor slide in the slushy snow even with spikes) but maybe only for another few days. I foresee this upcoming heat leading to some serious melting.
