Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: :-D Oye, Rec. you take the black pond bushwhack to begin with, right now. First water crossing was gnarly, took +/-45 minutes to navigate. River stole trekking poles and dry feet. Second big one pretty hairy too. Rest all relatively easy to get done.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: I mean, its spring, TLC is needed but, expectedly so. A lot of Lincoln Brook Trail seemed untouched for some time.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: I would think the bushwhack is too steep and slushy/slippery right now.
Bugs
Bugs: zilch

Comments: Ascent: Lincoln Woods-Franconia Brook-Lincoln Book-Brutus Bushwhack. Way out: BlackPond Bushwhack-BlackPond Trail

Wow! this trip through the book at us, lol! Gorgeous Lincoln Woods, amazing night for camping. First 2 River crossing are high and very difficult right now. Base of Brutus, which is very easily followed right now, to summit was rough and slow going. Lots of slush, ice, and super sticky snow. Micros were a bitch to keep from caking with snow. Once you think you've got the summit, keep going, and then keep going some more, lol! Descent from summit, be slow and very careful, lots of ping ponging and tree hugging. Such a truly gorgeous day though! WE JUST DID THAT!! Was the general consensus :) Even the long trek out was lovely and beautiful!
