I hiked up the mountain carrying my skis in my pack. Mostly bare until the elevation of the top of the quad chair. From here I decided to head over to under the tram and then to Vista Way. I wore boots with spikes and they worked very well. The new snow is like glue but thankfully many places were wind blown to nice corn snow. Little wind today and hot sun. Lots of people out nabbing some skiing today. I skied down Profile and then hiked back up Ravine and then skied down Taft and hiked up the saddle to Mittersill and then sided about half way down before having to hike. Then I was able to put my skis back on. Barron's was pretty decent, looks like a lot of people just get up and down. Good May first ski. Thankful for a fine ski season. |
