Fun day out there with Eric and Denise. Busted the winter pack back out for 3rd winter, and was happy I did. Snow started about halfway up Osseo. We put on traction just below the ladders although we were pushing our luck a bit and could have done it sooner (I had hillsound t-c's, Eric had K-10s, Denise Hillsound Pros). The ladder section is not in great shape. Lots of ice. Above here there is probably between 6 inches to a foot of fresh snow, on top of a stable but narrow monorail. Postholes off to the side are at least a few feet deep. Could have worn snowshoes if we wanted. |
