Comments
Comments: Bottom of polecat was rough so I took a detour up to 2800' for a better snowpack and put on spikes. Nice to run into postal patty and larry b on the way up. Wildcat ridge trail had some interesting spots for spikes climbing over C peak but was pretty good to Wildcat A. Going down to the hut was rather sketchy with the slides being challenging to find footholds with actual grip. Happy I was going up to Carter dome as the section below the view spur had lots of thick crunchy ice, above was rough with the spikes balling up. The sidehill on Carter Dome trail bypassing Hight was rough and hopefully it got beat into better shape yesterday. Lots of foot traffic for the rest of the loop and it was all easy work in spikes until I took them off at 2700' on S Imp trail. The stream section below the jct with North Carter trail is starting to melt out so recommend tagging it soon if you need the carters
