Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All easily rock hoppable. There were snow bridges but I didn't trust some of them.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails are in pretty good shape. Easy walk overs and I removed three trees on the path from Jackson to Pierce.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Three dogs today on Pierce and Eisenhower. None on Jackson. I wouldn't bring Fido up Jackson because there is a fair amount of ice on the WJ trail and some ice flows from Jackson to Pierce.

Comments
Comments: A nice blue sky day with plenty of views until it wasn't. The wind was stiff and a bit chilly on the peaks and the exposed areas. I left the blue skies on Eisenhower summit and started over to Monroe. The winds picked up as I started the hill then I saw rain in the distance blowing pretty rapidly toward the prezies. It seemed like it would stay north of Washington but not a chance I wanted to take - rain along with the cold, high winds. Met my goal for the day with the three peaks but waved off the bonus peak. Hillsounds worked well for this trek. Packed ice on WJ and WC up Jackson and over to Pierce. Some significant ice flows too; a major one on the backside of Jackson which I by passed to the right and some across to Mitzpah and up to Pierce which the traction handled. A little slushier but mostly packed over to Ike with more bare rock. Looked like mostly bare rock up to Monroe from what I could see. Crawford around Eisenhower packed but not like the others; post holed 8 or 10 times. Down and out Crawford was nicely packed up top and a little slushy down below.
