Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: I parked on Lake Road, at the Pumpelly trailhead. I found it somewhat challenging to try to figure out exactly where parking was allowed (there is a sign, just as you turn onto Lake Road, with a list of rules!!) Eventually I took my best guess, got all 4 tires off the pavement and on the shoulder, crossed my fingers and went hiking. My car was just fine (and no ticket!) when I returned.

Comments
Comments: I hiked a somewhat odd loop which included a longer road walk than I was planning. Basically I went up Pumpelly, down White Cross and Birchtoft, and hiked the Pond Loop. There is effectively no more ice, so my spikes stayed in my pack. Though there was lots of running water and mud on the trails, there is also a really generous number of stepping stones, so I was able to stay on the trail and have dry feet! If you do this loop, I would recommend a car spot or bike spot!!
