| Water Crossing Notes: |
The first crossing was avoided by taking the bushwhack along the river bank then using the snowmobile bridge. There was a thin layer of ice covering the rocks and water. While probably rockhopable with spikes they were not needed for the trail at this point so it was easier to go around than out them on for the crossing. No problem at the second crossing using some logs. |

| Comments: |
Nice stroll up Garfield today. I vatebooted to Burnt Knoll then used light traction to the summit and back to almost the second water crossing. Snowshoes would not have been overkill from the switchbacks to the summit. There was a few inches of new snow on a firm base. No evidence of traffic towards Lafayette from the summit, some faint tracks heading to Garfield Ridge Campsite.
