Lost and Found
Lost and Found: There were multiple rocks, at the Rogers summit, that were painted with people’s names on them. Are we really starting this again? It’s so disappointing. I packed them all out and weighed them when I got home - 6.7lbs. Nope, not even a little happy about this. Leave no trace, folks.

Comments
Comments: The windchill advisory made this a really cold hike, but also ensured that the mud was frozen. I would not recommend hiking these trails in warm weather, over the next few weeks, as there will be endless unavoidable mud. Today it was frozen mud until about 1700’ when patches of snow started. It was all snow above 1900’. I barebooted below 1900’ and wore snowshoes above. High Ridge Trail has the most impressive postholes I have ever seen. They are endless, up to 2’ in depth, and made by multiple people. Wowza! I wouldn’t have the patience to hike like that for miles! Wearing snowshoes kept me from turning an ankle; I didn’t need them for the actual snow, as it was a concrete superhighway with the cold weather, today.
