Comments: Avalon, Field, Wiley, Tom
Avalon Trail, Avalon Spur, Wiley Range Trail, A-Z Trail, Tom Spur,

Basically perfect early spring conditions. Everything nicely frozen when we started, and we used spikes from start to finish (really no need for snowshoes at all, unless you just really like them.) Quite a bit of ice under the snow on the way to Avalon- do NOT try this without traction at the moment. The rest of the trail was lovely- no sign of a monorail, a few postholes here and there as one would expect. Don't let the melting snow fool you- at least on these trails, winter is still very much here (when we got back to the lot I was glad to be able to pass this info along to a few people who asked about conditions. Still too much ice for bare boots.)
