| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Shaker Farm Rd. South, from NH 124 to the start of the Class VI section, was overall in decent shape. A few really muddy/rutty spots, but not a problem unless you have a low-rider. The Class VI section was surprisingly not super muddy, either; the only real spot with problem mud is the entrance to the parking area. Also, there was one big pond-like puddle shortly before the parking area. Small sedans can make it with care (a Volvo sedan pulled into the parking area as I was driving out), but 4WD and high clearance would still be best. |

| Comments: |
The Marlboro Trail is probably 95% free of ice, and completely free of snow. Only areas of ice were shortly before treeline, and traction was not needed to get over them. The rest of the trail both below and above the trees was an even mix of dry ground, wet ground, mud, wet rock, and standing water. Some more of these mild days and the remaining ice will melt and the footbed will be nice and dry. |
