Comments
Comments: Hiked to overlook just past Waumbec summit and back. Good packed conditions the whole way. Micro spikes definitely needed but not snowshoes. Minor muddy patches near trailhead but they are easily avoidable. Parts of trail up to Starr King are covered in wet ice, with some very wet and slippery areas. Kilkenny Ridge to Waumbec is well packed and easy to hike. Saw someone doing trail maintenance (removing a downed tree with an axe) - thanks! Beautiful day for a hike! Summit temp was 49 degrees, trailhead was 62 - so things are starting to melt!
