Went out and back from Dicey's Mill Trail. Didn't want to chance doing Blueberry Ledges by myself. There were a few other people out today that did go up that way though. From parking lot barefooted down road to start of trail. Put my snowshoes on at start of trail, but spikes really would be the best choice until after the water crossing. I just preferred to have my snowshoes on my feet and not on my back. Up higher there was a mix of ice, packed snow, and snow drifts. Other people out today were wearing crampons and thus made the trail rough going in spots. Tried to smooth it out the best I could. As temps started to warm through out the day the trail did get more sticky and slushy, but the trail underneath still felt pretty firm. Of course this could change with more warmer temps. |
