Barebooted the road, snowshoes to summit and back to the summer trailhead. Pretty lovely conditions and got amazing views with the accidentally perfectly timed 1pm start. If you need this peak, this would be a good week to snag it as its well sheltered from the wind and has a nice, well packed snowshoe track. One short section with some solid ice flows a little ways below the spring at 3400'. Could get away with spikes but with a week of freeze thaw day/night cycles please wear your snowshoes to avoid those nasty ankle killing divots and keep the trails nice. |
