Comments: Great day to grab East Osceola for my Winter NH48. Nice talking to 2 skiers heading up the same time as me. There were few inches of new snow and I did my best to snowshoe beside, not over, ski tracks from yesterday. Kept my snowshoes on to the summit of East Peak (televators have changed this hike for me), and switched to K-10s for the way down. Full crampons would have worked better on the icy luge track. Great sastrugi in places, some low, more higher up - thank you Ms. Goat for the new word! On my way up, passed 2 people coming down about half way through the steeps both wearing crampons. On my way down, passed 2 headed up, one in microspikes, the other without traction. Yikes! They must have turned around soon after as they caught up with me as I reached the end of the Mt. Osceola trail.
