| Comments: |
Snowshoes were an absolute must as apparently very few people hike the north side of this loop in winter. Snow was mainly supportive in snowshoes, with some sections of breakable crust. Above Treeline is all either bare rock or supportive snow. I had to take snowshoe off a couple times and did abuse them a bit on the ledge. Using snowfield made for better snowshoeing, especially cutting the corner from Baldface knob tr. to BFC Tr. on the way up south baldface. |
